Vaccine Reactions
Most dogs and cats have no side effects from vaccination. If your pet is showing any side effects, do not panic. These signs usually subside in 24-48 hours. Only a small minority of dogs and cats will have these symptoms, and only a small percentage of the reactions are serious.

If your pet has any of the following signs:

  • Repeated episodes of vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • Lethargic or restless behavior lasting more than 48 hours
  • Swollen face
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Hives (bumps) on the body

Please consult our advertised schedule, and return to one of our clinics as soon as possible on Saturday or Sunday in order for us to treat your pet free of charge. You may also reach us at (888) 234-1350 to speak with someone regarding the best way to treat your pet.

IF YOU CANNOT RETURN TO ONE OF OUR CLINICS, CONTACT A LOCAL 24-HOUR EMERGENCY VETERINARY FACILITY LISTED IN THE YELLOW PAGES. GOOD NEIGHBOR VET IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY VETERINARY FEES THAT RESULT FROM TREATING VACCINE REACTIONS. In any case, please inform us of any vaccine reactions and follow-ups. If your pet has a history of adverse reactions to vaccination, please arrive early so we can take the extra time necessary to review your pet's vaccination history.
